Beginner/Intermediate level
This 6 week class welcomes students of all levels and will cover handbuilding techniques including pinching, coiling, slab building, applying textures, use of equipment such as a slab roller and extruder, underglazing, glazing, and fundamentals of the life cycle and process of ceramics. More advanced students are welcome to work and receive guidance on their own personal projects.
All students will have their own shelf in the studio to store their clay, tools, and projects. The course fee includes one unlimited studio clay. (Additional clays can be purchased at the studio if desired.)
Students can bring their own tools or purchase them from the studio for $15 on the first day of class, and should bring aprons and towels if desired.
The student firing fee is $0.06 per cubic inch which covers the cost of bisque and glaze firing
All work must be completed or ready to go into the final glaze kiln by the end of the 6th week.
Students will have the option to book additional studio time at a discounted rate ($20 per hour) if they would like. Students will also have the opportunity to join the studio as a member after the course provided membership spots are available.
*Unfortunately we cannot offer any makeup classes.
*Refund requests made up to 2 weeks before the start of class are refundable less a $25 transaction fee, and 50% refundable up to one week before. There are no refunds (including credits or moving to a later class) one week prior to class beginning (including no-shows).
*Courses are subject to cancellation if there aren’t enough sign ups. This is a rare occurrence and in this case, students would be refunded the course fee.
*Centerpoint classes are for students ages 18 and older.
