This 3 week beginner focused class will cover basic handbuilding techniques including pinching, slab building, using forms, applying textures, glazing, and fundamentals of the life cycle and process of ceramics. The first two weeks will be devoted to creating, and the last week will be for glazing. More advanced students are welcome to work and receive guidance on their own personal projects.

  • Class also includes 3 hours of open studio time per week for students to work on their projects (dates & times TBD).

  • All students will have their own shelf in the studio to store their clay, tools, and projects. The course fee includes unlimited studio clay and house glazes. (Additional clay types can be purchased at the studio if desired.)

  • Students must bring their own tools or purchase them from the studio for $15 or on your first day of class, and should bring their own aprons and towels if needed.

  • The student firing fee is $0.06 per cubic inch which covers the cost of bisque and glaze firing.

  • All work must be completed or ready to go into the final glaze kiln by the end of the last class.

  • Students will have the option to book additional studio time at a discounted rate ($20 per hour) if they would like.

*Refund requests made up to 2 weeks before the start of class are refundable less a $25 transaction fee, and 50% refundable up to one week before. There are no refunds (including credits or moving to a later class) one week prior to class beginning (including no-shows). Unfortunately we cannot offer any makeup classes.

*Courses are subject to cancellation if not enough students sign up. In this case, students will be refunded the course fee.

*Centerpoint classes are for students ages 18 and older.
